PAPER SHREDDING, E-WASTE, BRUSH, and RIGID PLASTIC EVENT

 Saturday, October 9, 2021 8:00 to 11:00 AM 

This event is open to Washington Township, Morris County, residents only. Proof of residency is required. For more information call 908-876-3382.

PAPER SHREDDING

Boxes to be supplied by residents. Each box, no larger than banker size, must have a sticker. Stickers may be picked up beginning October 4, 2021 at the DPW office, 54 Rock Road Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.  The first 3 stickers are free!  Three additional stickers may be purchased at $10.00 each. There is a limit of 6 boxes per household which will be strictly enforced.  No plastic bags – paper grocery bags permitted.

It is not necessary to remove staples; paper clips and plastic binders must be removed.

No junk mail, magazines, books, newspaper or shredded paper. These items may be disposed of at the recycling center during its normal hours on Saturdays 8:00 - 12:00.

E-WASTE

Acceptable items include: televisions, monitors, computers, computer components, laptops, UPS, power cords, keyboards, mice, speakers, routers, docking stations, modems, printers, copiers, fax machines, toner cartridges, ink cartridges, stereo equipment, Blu-Ray players, DVD players, VCRs, cable boxes, telephones, cell phones, answering machines, gaming consoles, cameras, remote controls, typewriters

NOT ACCEPTABLE: fire alarms, thermostats, microwaves, equipment containing gas or oil, putrescible items

BRUSH

Brush must be 3 inches or less in diameter, and 3 feet or less in length.  Residents may make more than one trip. 

RIGID PLASTIC

Examples of acceptable items include: large plastic toys, laundry baskets, plastic garbage  cans, plastic storage containers, milk crates, plastic outdoor furniture (without PVC ), plastic pet carriers

NOT ACCEPTABLE: plastic gas/oil cans, hangers, medicine bottles, flow pots or trays
