Washington Township held its annual Memorial Day Ceremony to salute our brave servicemen and servicewomen who have given so much for our country at the Veterans Memorial Site at Rock Spring Park.

Annual Licensing

Dog and Cat Licenses

The licensing of all dogs and cats over the age of six months in the Township are required by state law and Township ordinance, respectively.  You must license your animal in the town that you live in. 

Licenses must be renewed each year by January 31st.

Proof of a rabies vaccination and spaying/neutering (if applicable) is required to license your animal.

The Rabies vaccination certificate must be valid through November 1st of the licensing year.

If the certificate is not valid through November 1st of the licensing year, the animal must be vaccinated prior to licensing.

Licenses may be obtained at the Tax Department in the Municipal Building.

Annual Licensing Fees if paid by January 31st

Neutered Dog $10.00 per animal

Non-neutered Dog $13.00 per animal

Neutered Cat $8.50 per animal

Non-neutered Cat $11.50 per animal

LATE FEE after January 31
$4.00 for the month of February and then $3.00 a month from March through December.

Licensing Information

If your dog or cat has a current license, you will receive a reminder card in the mail towards the end of December or the beginning of January. Check local newspapers for free rabies clinics for both dogs and cats.

The Washington Township Rabies Clinic will be held in January at the Department of Public Works, 54 Rock Road, Long Valley, New Jersey. Please check the Township Web Calendar for details as the clinic date draws near.

The license application can be found below. Please complete the application and then print the application for EACH animal you license.  Bring this application along with the current rabies information and Spay/Neuter certificate to the office.  If you choose to mail in your application please include a self addressed stamped envelope to expedite the application.
