Proudly serving Washington Township for Fifty Years (1964-2014).
It is the mission of the Washington Township Police Department to protect life and property, enforce the law in a fair and impartial manner, and to preserve the peace, order, and safety of the community we serve.
We will act in partnership with the community in a pro-active manner to promote a responsive approach to quality of life issues.

Self Reporting
Washington Township Police have an online reporting system to help people get assistance with non-emergent matters.Citizens can report criminal mischief, harassment, lost property, property damage, minor thefts, and fraud/credit card theft. This is for non-emergent reports only. Access the Reporting System HERE.
Once received, the information will be directed to an officer who will contact you.You can always call the non-emergency number (908-876-3232) at any time for assistance you may need, and always call 911 for all emergencies.
Lieutenants
The Lieutenants oversee the operation of the various divisions of the Department: Administrative, Patrol Division and Support Services.
Administrative Lieutenant
The Administrative Lieutenant is staffed by Lt. Mark Niemynski; Lt. Niemynski is responsible for the Departments Accreditation Process, Standardized Operating Procedures, Records Bureau, OPRA Request, NJDARM, Annual Reporting, Municipal Court Liaison, Firearms Background Requests, CJP Coordinator and Building and Grounds of Police Headquarters.

Patrol Lieutenant
The Patrol Lieutenant is staffed by Lt. Lucas Allen; Lt. Allen is responsible for the Patrol Division, Contractor Scheduling, Oversees Departments Specials and Matrons, and Township Alarms. He is the Department Training Officer, and the Liaison for the Washington Township Fire Companies and Long Valley First Aid Squad.

Support Services Lieutenant
The Support Services Lieutenant is staffed by Lt. Chris Bratus. Lt. Bratus is responsible for the Detective Bureau, School Resource Officers, Traffic, MCREDS, RDT, Community Policing, Emergency Services, Uniform Crime Reporting, and special event planning. He is the School District Liaison, Active Shooter / Tactical Instructor, and Internal Affairs Officer.
