Township Update - April 11, 2020

April 11, 2020 - Governor Murphy has signed Executive Order 123 extending certain insurance premium deadlines. In summary, property and casualty insurance companies, life insurance companies, and insurance premium finance companies, shall not cancel during the emergency grace period any policy or contract as a result of nonpayment for a period of at least 90 days, during which period claims shall be paid without regard to prior nonpayment of premium by the policyholder and health insurance companies, health maintenance organizations, health service corporations and other entities issuing health or dental benefits plans in this State, shall not cancel during the emergency grace period any policy or contract as a result of non payment for a period of at least 60 days.

COVID-19 Drive-Thru Tests are set to resume Monday at CCM. Weather could impact schedule,  please visit ow.ly/Zrge50zbo4F for more info and appointments.

There are 39 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Township. A confirmed case is those where positive results have been reported to the state and the local Health Department has investigated.

If you are having problems with unemployment benefits, the Governor's office has set up an email that you can use to get help and a person will respond: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

If you’re sick, call your healthcare provider. Call your doctor’s office or hospital FIRST before driving there. If you call 9-1-1 for a true emergency, please mask up to protect yourself and our first responders. Follow CDC guidelines and stay home as much as possible:

Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

Avoid handshakes.

Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.

Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. If you do not have a tissue, use your sleeve (not your hand).

Get a flu shot to prevent the flu if you have not done so this season.

Wear a cloth mask at grocery stores and where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.

It has been brought to my attention that a local organization has shared a screenshot of the senior and vulnerable Shopper hours spreadsheet put together by the Township. Though I encourage everyone to share this info with anyone they know who may need it, please share a link to the live document which is updated by our staff (along with the local take-out/delivery list) rather than an unattributed screenshot which won’t update automatically.

The Township Committee Work Session agenda and log-in instructions for the online meeting is available on the Township website’s calendar at www.wtmorris.org
