Township Update - June 29, 2020

June 29, 2020.  There is one new case confirmed by the Washington Township Health Department to report today. Our total number of cases confirmed is now at 125, with 12 deaths and 102 released from isolation.

I have seen some discussion online about why we haven’t reopened the Municipal Building yet. While we have taken what we believe to be appropriate measures that would meet the requirements of the Governor’s orders to keep our township employees and residents safe, no guidance from the Governor has been received yet. Once we receive that guidance, we will work to reopen the building. Note that all township employees continue to provide services for the people of the town. Permits and inspections are a little backed up but our building department is working to get all of them completed.

Low and medium risk sports can resume non-contact practices as of 6/22 and can resume competitions on July 6th. For the guidance for sports activities visit: https://nj.gov/…/topics/NCOV/COVID_GuidanceForSportsActivit…

Retail in malls reopened today with restrictions including; 50% capacity, masks for all adults but all food courts, theaters and arcades must remain closed. Please note that if we have not posted about other business and activities reopening, we haven’t received any guidance yet.

The Governor’s travel advisory for people coming from states with high cases went into effect Midnight on Wednesday, 624/2020. You can get a list of states that meet the criteria at https://COVID-19.nj.gov

Indoor dining may resume at 25% capacity on July 2nd.

If you haven't completed your 2020 Census forms, you can do it online here: https://www.nj.gov/state/census.shtml

Stay safe everyone
